nah my friend, just been having tons of issues with arm pain. trying my damnedest to get over it though, have faith :-)

Where have I been? Well, after having tendinitis in my right arm for over a year, I developed it in my left arm as well. Sorry for the lack of updates, being an invalid is a full-time job.
It’s been improving a bit though, and I’m starting a special treatment soon that should accelerate healing, so no, I’m not dead, and neither is the project. -

Hey guys and gals,
thanks for all the season’s greetings and questions, we hope you all had a joyous holiday season. Sorry for the lack of updates recently, I’ve had tendinitis is my right arm since March of last year that’s exacerbated primarily by either writing or using a computer with my right hand. One of the most crucial parts to ‘the process’ for me is to be able to draw out sketches to figure out dimensions and relations, but at this point I’m pretty much fully converted to lefty so it shouldn’t be a huge issue any longer. CAD is still a pain in the ass now but with the help of ice, liquor, and stretching, I can usually tolerate the pain enough to get stuff done now.
On to some good news: I am now in possession of an AK mag thanks to one of the group members, a part I needed to take dimensions from to resume work on the prototype. Expect some more models shortly, and hopefully something physical now that all my finances have been sorted out. And, if I’m not feeling too lazy, some VSS articles.

Have you ever been able to hold a replica of a VSS, perhaps a model of some sort? Just curious, Thanks! Anonymous
Unfortunately not. There are airsoft reproductions available but I’m not sure how close any of them are to the real dimensions, weight, and balance.

ive got an AK, and ive been in love with the AS VAL/Vintorez type platforms for a while now even though ive never laid eyes upon one. so i love you basically. keep it up!

Im interested in your project and pray it works out to be successful. Those cad drawings, are they spec?
Probably not. There are no official schematics available, at least not to the best of my knowledge. All my CAD drawings are created using a few known dimensions and a lot of dimensions that are inferred from pictures and hobbyist schematics using the known measurements.

Hey have you guys looked at the Vz 58 hammer rod system? I think it looks similar to what the VSS has
It is similar in a lot of ways, and if it wasn’t in the interest in the project to keep the repro as true as possible, it would be relatively simple to cannibalize the vz 58.

Hey, not quite. I just finished up my finals and I’m back home now. I’m going to try and get some more CAD done with all this free time I have now.
